Wienerberger Annual Report 2006 receives numerous prizes

Vienna, September 27, 2007 – The Wienerberger Annual Report 2006 matched the successes recorded in previous years as the recipient of numerous national and international prizes. At the ARC (Annual Report Competition) Awards, one of the largest competitions in the world and the “Oscar“ for annual reports, Wienerberger received numerous prizes for the third year in succession from over 1,900 reports submitted from 26 countries. This Austrian annual report received two Grand Awards in the categories “Interior Design“ and “Best of Austria“. The international jury of experts from the areas of investor relations, journalism, design and photography also recognized Wienerberger with gold in the categories of “interior design“, “written text“, “overall annual report“ as well as silver for “cover photo/design“, bronze for “photography“ and “online annual report“ and honors in the category “financial data“.

For the first time Wienerberger also submitted its annual report to the “2006 Vision Awards“, which are presented by the League of American Communication Professionals (LACP). With its concept “In some ways it was a bad year. In other ways it was a good year.“ and the cover picture, Wienerberger was singled out from more than 2,500 submissions from 21 countries with a platinum award in the category “most creative“ and ranked a sensational fourth in the worldwide “TOP 100 Annual Reports“.

The “Annual Reports on Annual Reports“, a ranking published by the Belgian consulting company e.com, has rated selected annual reports from the most important international companies since 1996. The most unique characteristic of the e.com award is that an independent jury decides which reports will be accepted for evaluation. This year’s analysis focused on 1,500 annual reports from all over the world. The Wienerberger Annual Report 2006 was honored for the best cover illustration of the year and nominated “World Class” as one of two reports globally which received a five star rating.

For the fourth year in succession: Austrian Annual Report Award for Wienerberger
Last but not least, the Wienerberger annual report is not only one of the best in international comparison. At the Austrian Annual Report Awards gala, the business journal “trend” presented its awards for the best annual reports in Austria. For the fourth year in succession, Wienerberger received the Austrian Annual Report Award for publicly traded companies. The expert jury of academics and practitioners also recognized the surprising and ambivalent message, unusual design and excellent balance between information and user friendliness with awards in the sub-categories of “business reporting“ and “media quality“.
