    In the TV format DAS GESPRÄCH on ORF2, Austria’s national TV channel, wienerberger CEO Heimo Scheuch discussed Austria’s urgent challenges with Minister of Finance Markus Marterbauer & political scientist Kathrin Stainer-Hämmerle.

    "High inflation, high energy prices & lack of efficiency. Things are moving too slowly in Austria’s government – putting our industry and jobs at risk!"

    To secure a strong economy and sustainable future, Austria needs:

    • Immediate action against inflation: Costs of living and energy prices in Austria are significantly higher than in comparable countries. The government must act fast to ease the burden on citizens.
    • Strengthening Austria as an industrial location: Industry is the foundation of prosperity and jobs. International competitiveness is under pressure, especially due to high energy and labor costs.
    • Strategic, predictable energy prices: Energy transition towards sustainable sources requires long-term planning. Electricity prices must be competitive to secure investments.
    • A more efficient state with lower costs: Administrative costs have risen sharply in recent years. The state needs to become more efficient and cost-effective, without burdening citizens.
    • Bold reforms and clear vision: Austria needs renewal, decisive action, and optimism to enable sustainable investment.
